About Caring Together Charity

More than three in five of us will become a carer at some point in our life. Caring Together is an ambitious regional charity that provides emotional and practical support, information and advice to carers of all ages and their families, as well as opportunities to take a break from their caring role.

Our vision is of a world in which no unpaid carer is in crisis, isolated or struggling alone.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Bid Writer to join our team. As our Bid Writer, you will play a crucial role in securing funding for our organisation through compelling contract bids and grant applications. You will collaborate closely with various teams to gather information and translate our charitable initiatives into persuasive narratives that resonate with commissioners, procurement teams and funders.

This new role offers a unique opportunity to make a direct contribution to our vision that no unpaid carer should be in crisis, isolated or struggling alone.

Key responsibilities

  • Developing and submitting compelling bids and funding proposals to secure grants and contracts.
  • Conducting thorough research to evidence the need for our services and identifying potential cost savings for funders.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with funders and commissioners.
  • Coordinating the preparation of proposals, ensuring compliance with all requirements and deadlines.
  • Supporting the monitoring and evaluation of funded projects to demonstrate impact and outcomes.

Why join us?

  • You will make a direct and meaningful contribution to improving the lives of unpaid carers.
  • You will work with a dedicated and supportive team, passionate about driving positive change.
  • This is a unique opportunity to use your skills in a role that delivers lasting impact.
  • A suite of benefits including 25 days’ annual leave, plus the opportunity to buy more, life insurance, 24/7 GP Service, paid Carer’s Leave, flexible working opportunities, and support with further study or development.

About you

You are a highly organised and detail-oriented professional with excellent writing and communication skills. You have experience in bid writing, grant applications, or research, with a track record of successfully bidding for local authority or NHS contracts.

You are confident in your ability to produce high-quality work under deadlines and be able to manage multiple proposals simultaneously. You will have project management experience with the ability to mobilise a multi-disciplinary team.
