Kind hearted staff at Carers Trust Cambridgeshire donated more than 200 festive treats to make a dozen bumper Christmas hampers for families they support.
The Young Carers and Young Adult Carers teams were looking at ways to support some of their families. They appealed to staff to bring in an item or two to make up a hamper – and were inundated by the response, with more than 200 items donated, including food, chocolate, games, toiletries and stationery.
The hampers will be delivered to families in the run up to Christmas.
Alice Boon, Young Carers Project Officer, said: “We were overwhelmed with the response and would like to thank everyone who contributed, our generous staff and their families, our trustees, as well as Tesco who gave a number of items, and Howden’s Joinery of St Ives, who kindly gave a cash donation which enabled us to buy a chocolate selection box for all our young carers. We know this will mean a lot to them.”
