The Young Carers team organised their first Intergenerational Family Carers Picnic and it was a huge success so we would like to thank everyone who supported us! With 163 attending, not including staff and volunteers, it is safe to say it was a popular event. The feedback was amazing, with all our families asking when next year’s will take place. It was fun for all the family, with activities on offer for everyone.
We provided everything from face painting, hair braiding and bouncy castle fun to flower arranging, hand massaging, magnet decorating, biscuit decorating and card making. There was something for everyone to get involved in. We received three new referrals for young people who wish to engage with Young Carers and through donations for the activities and refreshments, we raised around £100.
During our fabulous events held over Carers Week we raised nearly £300 and had fantastic engagement with schools, colleges, partners throughout Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Norfolk.
