Are you a young carer that believes all young carers have the right to education, emotional support, respite and to have their voice heard?
A young carer is a child or young person under the age of 18 who provides emotional and/or physical care to a loved one. This could be due to a disability, illness, poor mental health, drug or alcohol addiction.
If that sounds like you and you have lived experience of being a young carer, then why not apply to become a young carer representative on Centre 33’s Young Carers Advisory Board.
Centre 33, the charity that supports young people in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, are currently recruiting for the board. The board, formed in 2020, helps Centre 33 and other organisations, decide what services and support is needed to make the two counties a great place for all young carers.
The Young Carers Advisory Board will work directly with Centre 33 and have a genuine influence in not only shaping but creating real change for the better.
What’s involved.
Becoming a young carer representative involves:
- attending at four Young Carers Advisory Board meetings a year
- attending training sessions
- meeting with other young carers
- and getting the chance to become Chair or Vice Chair of the board.
