A chance to hold an event in your neighbourhood to get to know each other better. It’s an opportune time to spread the word about caring and to get carers connected in their community, the theme of this years’ Carers Week.
The Annual Community Get Together which runs from 1-23 June includes three national events that are designed to bring communities together:
The Big Lunch on 1-2 June is about millions of people getting together to share food, have fun and get to know each other better. It’s a simple idea – that for a few glorious hours, cars stop, shyness stops and neighbours come together in the street to meet, greet, share, swap, sing, plan and laugh.
Carers Week is 10-16 June. There’s no better way to get carers connected in their community than organising a get together.
The Great Get Together on 21-23 June is inspired by Jo Cox MP. Communities up and down the country will be getting together to celebrate kindness, respect and all we have in common.
