The National Autistic Society (NAS) champions the rights and interests of all people on the autism spectrum. It aims to provide individuals with autism and their families with help, support and services that they can access, trust and rely on and which can make a positive difference to their lives. The main NAS website contains information about autism and Asperger Syndrome, the NAS and its services and activities. The Cambridge branch is run by volunteers with personal and family experience of autism and supports the autism community across Cambridgeshire. It provides information, advice and support via telephone, email, website and facebook and runs support groups and clubs for people on the autistic spectrum and their families. Their regular groups include a social club for adults and carers support group held in Cambridge, and drop-in sessions in Huntingdon and March, as well as other one-off family and information events. Details of the groups can be found on the Cambridge branch website and Facebook page, they also have a Facebook group sharing local information and peer support.
