Local volunteers providing free short term practical help in your home. For up to six weeks after a hospital stay, (or illness at home to help avoid a hospital admission) they can help to:
- Check you are OK
- Fetch a prescription
- Collect shopping
- Arrange other services eg: meals on wheels, public and voluntary services, mobile warden schemes and a range of other community groups.
We can also offer help with one-off tasks, not just after illness, such as:
- Changing a light bulb
- Posting a letter or parcel
- One-off emergency shop
- Light-touch housework
- Energy card top-ups
- Home assessments for hospital discharges including fridge clearance
- Referring you on to further services.
