Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity. Every day, they work to find new treatments and, ultimately, a cure for dementia. They provide expert information, training, and support services to all those who need their help. And they are creating a more dementia-friendly society so people with the condition can live without fear and prejudice. Alzheimer’s Society have a range of local services, listed below:
Dementia support and adviser services
They offer information and practical guidance to help people understand dementia, cope with day-to-day challenges and prepare for the future. Support is offered face-to-face, over the phone or in writing.
Peer support groups
An opportunity to meet with others who understand some of what they are going through. Run by a facilitator, the sessions offer a chance to ask questions, get information and share experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
