Imam Sejad Mekic of Cambridge Central Mosque has spoken about the importance and value of carers, saying “taking care of someone is a unique and really excellent meritorious practice that is heavily rewarded for us in this life and in the next life.”
He encourages people from his community who care for a loved one to make sure they make the most of the support available to them and adds organisations such as Caring Together can guide them.
Ayesha, inclusion officer at Caring Together, met with the Imam during a recent NHS diabetes wellness event at the Cambridge Central Mosque, where we were invited to have an information stall to raise awareness of Caring Together and offer advice and information to carers.
